Hello everyone! I've decided to publish articles I write here on my blog, so that my readers can see my other styles of writing. Don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or comments about areas where I could improve.
My articles can be divided between two sections.
First, my early articles from 2020 to 2024, were written for my middle and high school's newspaper "The Howler", of which I was Editor-in-Chief. Each bi-monthly edition was dedicated to one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and thus my articles too are centred around this theme. The newspaper aimed to focus on the 2030 Agenda in order to raise awareness on the pertinent global challenges our world faces today, and the variety of solutions policymakers and institutions should begin implementing before it's too late. This was also an extension of my school's curriculum to encompass the SDGs in daily lessons, which I believe should be implemented in all education. Schools are where young people, the future generations, are most open to learning and debating. Receiving a sustainablility and equality focused education will only broaden their horizons, and inspire youth to take action and leadership.
Second, I've recently begun in September 2024, my higher level education at Sciences Po, on the Le Havre campus, which focuses on the Asian-Pacific region. I wanted to continue developing my journalistic voice, and thus joined my campus's newspaper, "Le Dragon Déchaîné". I have started a column dedicated to introducing readers to different minorities and their plights, to raise awareness, and to encourage further readings into such topics. Thus, each month I will publish an article and an art piece centred around an ethnic community. Clearly, as a student I don't have the full capacity nor time to delve into the complexities of each ethnic community. My art pieces are also not an accurate representation of the cultures as a whole, but an artistic interpretation based on primary photographs and references of historical traditions. Like the SDGs, learning about different cultures and their socioeconomic realities and challenges, is a matter close to my heart, so I hope you too can join me on this adventure and deepen your knowledge on issues our world is facing today.
